Harman International Industries, a Samsung company is expanding its automotive electronics plant in Chakan near Pune in Maharashtra. The company will invest close to ₹ 3,500 million (approx. USD 50 million) towards production of automotive electronics unit.
The production of Digital Cockpit Units (DCU) and Telematics Control Units (TCU) will increase to over 25,00,000 units annually from 2,00,000 units currently in the next three years.
In May 2019, the company has inaugurated the phase II of the plant.
