Maharashtra government to set up first jewellery park in Navy Mumbai

Maharashtra government is setting up its first jewellery park in Navy Mumbai. It has allotted 21 acres of land which will house small players predominantly along with Customs, banks and other such agencies. The park will deploy the model of Bharat Diamond Bourse. It will facilitate both exporters and domestic jewellery suppliers to conduct their businesses under one roof. It will also ensure exporters be able to take advantage of all the benefits enjoyed by units in export processing zones. The park is expected to house 4,800 large and small units encompassing the entire jewellery value chain.
