Shree Sai Baba Sand Dredging Co Pvt Ltd is setting up a multipurpose jetty in Ulwa in Panvel Tehsil in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The proposed berthing jetty will be constructed parallel to shoreline. The size of the jetty in the initial stage is proposed as 35.00 m long and 15.00 m wide which will be extended to 100.00m parallel to the shore line in stages. The total area of storage yard in the initial stages will be about 2.50 acres / 10117.1 sq. m which will be increased to about 6.0 acres / 24281.1 sq.m in future.
The existing seabed level is ranging from +3.00 m near shore to about -2.00 m, 100 m away from the shoreline. In future, it is proposed to dredge the entire area in front of waterfront of about 100 m X 200 m up to the channel to -3 m to have vessel entry and exit at all tides.
