Kolhapur Airport is planning an expansion programme. The airport operated by AAI is handling domestic flights under UDAAN Scheme. Now, it is looking to expand by acquiring 26 ha of land. The Maharashtra government has allocated an amount of ₹ 212.25 crore for the land acquisition process.
It may be noted that, earlier, an amount of ₹ 53 crore were sanctioned for Phase-I of carrying expansion works. Of these, ₹ 26 crore were given to the Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
