GMIDC to develop Nilwande Dam canals for irrigation

Godawari-Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation (GMIDC) has received ₹ 5,000 million from Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust in Shirdi as an interest free loan for irrigational development of Nilwande Dam. The corp has signed an MoU regarding the project.

Nilwande Dam which is located on Pravara River and is expected to benefit 182 villages in Sangamner, Akole, Rahata, Rahuri and Kopargaon talukas in Ahmednagar district and Sinnar in Nashik. It had already begun storing water but the right and left bank canals needed to be built for use of irrigation and drinking water purposes.
